Case Study

We have worked for The Alnwick Garden Trust, the charity that manages and develops The Alnwick Garden, since 2003. The Trust raises funds to complete construction of The Garden, which runs community development schemes and various educational iniatives as part of its role as a project for 'all the people'. Over time we have positioned The Alnwick Garden Trust as a pioneer in drugs education and most recently Citigate created, coordinated and delivered an educationally authentic drugs tour. Called "Reality Tours", school pupils were confronted by actors playing the role of drug addicts while on a tour of The Garden.

Coordinated in conjunction with local schools, council drug action teams and the media, this unique approach won plaudits from teachers and parents and reached a wider audience via coverage on BBC Radio 4, Five Live, Metro and ITV and BBC television news. The initiative will be rolled out to schools and local councils throughout the country in 2008.
