
Michael Prest has extensive experience of journalism, international organisations and public relations. He covered the Gulf region for the Middle East Economic Digest in the 1970s and first visited Qatar in 1976. There followed almost 10 years writing about commodities, oil, financial markets and development for The Times. Michael was a founding shareholder in the Independent of London for which he specialised in commodities and development. After six years in Washington DC as speechwriter to the president of the World Bank, he returned to London where he was an editor for breakingviews.com and started his own financial PR agency before joining Citigate Dewe Rogerson. Michael lives in Doha.
