The Pharma & Biotech team at Citigate Dewe Rogerson, the leading international consultancy specialising in financial and corporate communications, is pleased to provide an update of team and client activities during the second quarter of 2010.
During this period, the team has been working on a wide range of client activities, a highlight of which was hosting a very successful Capital Markets Day for Algeta, the cancer company developing Alpharadin for bone metastases, at our offices in London. The event featured a talk by Dr Chris Parker from the UK Institute of Cancer Research and Royal Marsden Hospital, on the landscape of prostate cancer therapies and where new treatments including Alpharadin will likely fit in. Dr Parker is the Principal Investigator of Algeta's phase III clinical trial with Alpharadin. The event attracted more than 30 members of the UK life sciences investment community and international press.
Continuing this theme, the Citigate team hosted a "City Lunch" meeting on behalf of Clavis Pharma, to brief an invited audience from the investment community and press on its novel treatments to improve the efficacy of first-line cancer therapies, cytarabine and gemcitabine. In addition to Clavis' CEO, speakers at the lunch included Professor Francis Giles, Chief of Hematology and Medical Oncology at The University of Texas Health Science Center, and Patrick Mahaffy, CEO of Clovis Oncology, Clavis' development partner for CP-4126, which is in Phase II trials for pancreatic cancer.
Further activities of the Citigate team's clients can be found below.
Finally, in team news, we are very pleased to welcome Malcolm Robertson as Account Manager. Malcolm has over seven years experience working in the biotechnology and clean technology sectors. Prior to joining Citigate, he worked as a cleantech analyst at VB/Research and before this as at TVF Communications providing communications support to healthcare and pharmaceutical companies. Malcolm has a degree and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. He will be providing support on existing Pharma & Biotech clients and will also be looking to broaden the team's offering into the cleantech space.
